Ladies can we talk calendars ? I'm really wanting to order a liturgical calender this yr. I ordered a calender last yr from Tradbooks here in Canada . It is a lovely calendar too .
I would love other ideas , websites to look . We need at least 3 calendars in our home
I also want a datebook . It is difficult to find something I like being in Canada many are just listing American celebrations etc. but really I just want something with the daily readings listed that is my main need .
I tend to love a flower calendar for my kitchen . Have you seen any out yet that you like ?
I hope we get a good thread going on this subject

I purchased the 2010 Catholic Calendar from Saints Galore and I LOVE it!! I'll also be purchasing a new copy of Tan's 2010 Saints Calendar and Daily Planner, which is what I use to keep track of all the various feast days since it lists both the New and Traditional!
Can't wait to see what everyone else suggests!

Well the calender I get is free from our Parish.. it's from catholic extension I don't know if they sell them to individuals or not.
For the readings, have you looked for a website that you could make your home page so that when you turn on the internet it comes up first?

I'm not sure... I'm headed out the door right now for our All Souls Mass at the cemetery and then to run some errands, but perhaps I can take a photo of a couple pages in my current calendar and email it to you this afternoon once I am home.
I've used it for years... (Actually my mother-in-law sends both my husband & I a copy every Christmas!) and I really DO love it!!

I truely do not like online readings . This is what I do now .I come online look at the weeks readings and write them down in my datebook . I do the readings during my prayer time and not on the computer . My discernment comes Through His word so it is very importnat for me to do this in a peaceful prayerful mannor which I just do not get via internet so to have those readings already in a datebook would be great .
So far I found This One it is a canadian catholic liturgical calender but again I dislike to print something off I'd much rather purchase a nice book to have in my hand .
Jessica I like that Saints Galore One ! keep em coming ladies

Well since the readings are in a 3 year cycle.. couldn't you just get the one book that does those? Which the proper name for is escaping me at the moment. Then you'd have the book for all the time that you could keep with your Bible. And that would leave you more flexible on the calendar.

Jodie, are you thinking of a missal?
I wonder if that would help, together with an ordo, which would show the readings for each day (you'll need some type of calendar, because the weeks do change, and holy days sometimes get moved...)

Probably sometimes especially when I'm still sleepy or juggling things the simplest things slip my mind.
I'm working on a chore schedule for this month.. we're trying things and pinpointing where problems are.. but giving each try a full month.. so at the beginning of the month I'm trying to figure out what didnt' work and what might work better

Martha,
I wasn't able to find sample pages for the 2010 calendar, but there is one online from the 2008 Calendar and Daily Planner. Every year it has the same layout. (Here is a link to the actual pdf file.) Also, All Catholic Books carries it at a discount. ($11.25 instead of $15.00) I hope that helps.
God bless!

I just realized I don't have a 2010 Calendar! :)
I wish I would have known about the Saints Galore one before they sold out! :( The cover looks absolutely stunning. I had never seen that picture of Our Lady before. I'm going to buy Tan's calendar since they have both the Tridentine and New, but I would have liked something I could hang like the one mentioned above.

For a datebook I really Like Michelle Quigley's Catholic Women's planner. It comes in various sizes/formats to suit your preferences. Has all the readings, saint days, etc. I just got my 2010 and am pleased as always.

I found a lovely one Theresa in november at the catholic bookstore ! It has all the daily mass readings & nature photos with nice pages for me to jot down the small thoughts . they were all sold out of those wheel lamenated liturgical ones for the kids though . then again I don't want more stuff entering the home be it a nice calander or not I feel we are pretty much set now . it is adventure boys b-day tomorrow so I'm pretty much broke if anyone is interested in having a look at this prayer journal check it out at the link . They say free shipping in the USA too . It is no where near big enough to be a journal for me but ceratinly enough for dates and small enteries.

Just and FYI to let you all know that the next planner (Aug. 2010 - July 2011) will include both the new (ordinary form) and old (extraordinary form --1962) calendars. Most especially feast days --though I am trying to add in the mass readings as well but there aren't specified readings for every day on the old calendar so I will most likely just include the Sunday readings for that.

I'm rejoicing as we try very much to live both these calendars! Thank you very much for including both, Michele!

I am LOVING my planner from Family-Centered Life...I put my prayer intentions in the left box by the Rosary Mystery Dad, and my appointments in the left side of the lined days, and my things to do on the right hand side of the lined days box. Add a few stickers, colored highlighter reminders (blue=medical, green=money things, yellow=important reminders, and pink=birthdays), and all is done. LOVE the monthly section (I put my monthly homeschooling ideas there on the right side...artist, musician of the month, etc), and put my main appointments in the month section.
I love the daily Mass readings, and all the other features. This has been a wonderful planner. Thanks Michelle!

I, too, am really enjoying the Catholic Woman's Daily Planner from Family-Centered Press. Thank-you Michele! I really love the month tabs that were included. It makes it so easy to find the current month. I love the overview of the month and especially love the two sheets of lined pages before the overview! On the left lined sheet, I keep up with my goals and on the right lined sheet, I have my TO DO list! NO MORE SEARCHING FOR ALL THOSE MISCELLANEOUS NOTES ON PIECES OF SCRATCH PAPER OR OLD ENVELOPES. Well, not as much as before anyway! Does anyone else have that problem? God bless you!
Thank you again!
Jill
