Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My Danny is interested in visiting the Miles Christi (seminary?) in a few weeks. He has wanted to become a priest for several years and now is in 11th grade and looking at various orders--this order strikes him as very conservative and traditional.

Does anyone has knowledge about this order?
I would greatly appreciate anything we can learn.

My dh and I usually go on a Miles Christi retreat yearly. We love these holy fervent priests. They are some of the best men we know. I am going to PM you our email and phone number. My husband is very friendly with several of the priests as he has been a retreat assistant for many retreats in Libertyville, IL. It is the National Shrine of St. Maximillan Kolbe run by the Franciscans were the retreats are held.

The priests give retreats based on the Spiritual Exercises of St. Ignatius of Loyola. They are silent retreats were there is time for spiritual direction, general confession, rosary, spiritual reading, adoration and Mass. The priests work very hard to have fresh material each year for retreat participants.

My dh and I like how they never point anything to themselves. It is never..."this is what Miles Christi says you should do" They always point to Jesus, Mary, Holy Mother Church and the saints.

They were asked to lead the Spiritual Exercises when the late Fr. Hardon was ailing and needing help in getting the retreats run.

I can't say enough good things about this order. Simply men trying to be good priests to bring honor to Our Lord and to show devotion to Our Lady. What could be better?

Please let me know if I can answer anything else...I can try. I will PM you. Off to pick up a pizza for a b-day dinner. God bless your son as he discerns.

Mb

Oh this is a wonderful order! My boys have attended their boys formation groups and we've gone to their family days of recollection.

Fr. Hardon was instrumental in bringing the order here to the states.

Wonderful recommendations here too. While I have not been able to leave the nursing babies for a retreat yet, my sons and husband have attended the retreats in St. Louis for several years. At 17, one son was a little on the young side and probably didn't get as much out of a silent retreat, but my talk-a-holic husband enjoys them VERY much

It has him saying the office, and going to Mass a little more often during the month.

Blessings,
Stephanie
