Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I've been asked to coordinate a drop off location for "Christmas shoeboxes" in our town this year. In the past the dropoff location has been at a local Baptist church. If I do this, I would want the drop off to be at our parish church. Problem is, here is the group's Statement of Faith. I THINK I see sola Scriptura and sola fide in there, but it is not as obvious as some other statements I've run across. What do you think? Based on their Statement of Faith, should I go ahead with planning a drop off at our parish?
Thanks!
Jennifer

Our youth director, who is a very faith-filled man is a firm supporter of Operation Christmas Child. I am sure if there was a problem, he wouldn't endorse it so strongly. It is a church sponsored activity in my parish.

Jennifer, its a hard call to make. I took a look at the statement of faith. I found myself wondering if they believe that the body of all believers includes Catholics or if they feel we need conversion? I have been trying to remember what it is that I heard, awhile ago, that was problematic. If I remember correctly, it was that these boxes include protestant tracts and that they are sending them off and witnessing to some traditionally Catholic communities??? I wouldn't consider this firm information, though. I just can't remember for sure. It was a long time ago. Maybe call and ask some questions of them, and then show the statement of faith to your parish priest along with whatever you found out in the phone call???
