Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Alison,

We celebrated too with early morning St. Lucia buns and Maggie dressed as St. Lucy (altho, of course I couldn't find an all-red ribbon for her so she's sort of a mix of Irish plaid and Swedish!).

The kids did their plays later that day ... and the home-school drama club's name is "Lumen Christi" (Light of Christ) -- how perfect is that for the Patron Saint of Light????

Thanks for sharing your events.

Our celebration was a bit subdued this year but still enjoyed especially since it was Saturday and Husband was able to enjoy it with us.

I loved looking at everyone's St. Lucia pictures! They are all so sweet and gave me ideas for next year.

We had aa little celebration of our own. This is such a sweet feast day!

This is how we celebrated. My Maggie was very excited for this day!

Thanks to everyone here for sharing such great ideas. I used the paper doll and a coloring sheet that was posted here about a month ago.
