We have little signs/letters we put up on our home Atrium/Altar during the year but I was writing up a advent to-do list and realized I didn't have any for Advent.
Ive got Prepare and Rejoice for 2 of the Sundays, any ideas for the other 2?
Latin or English or both- I should be able to come up with this but I have a sluggo brain today.
No fair getting a stomach virus when you are preggo

Are you looking for phrases to personally stir the children?
Some that I've pulled from the liturgy or music:
Quote:
Come, Lord Jesus! or Maranatha, Jesu!
Come, Emmanuel or Veni, Emmanuel
Let the clouds rain down the Just One
and the earth bring forth a Savior
or
Rorate, caeli, desuger, et nubes pluant iustum.
People, Look East!
Stir up (our hearts and come)!
Come, O Lord, do not delay!
Make straight His paths.
Save us without delay! |

|
No one worders, though.
Hope you recover soon, Maggie.

Since you said atrium, I was thinking of the prayer cards and the Advent Prophecy presentations. I don't have my notes to know the exact carving of the phrase to present to the littles. The Light one is presented each year.
1. Prophecy of Light, Is 9:2a
The people who walked in darkness have seen a great light
2. Prophecy of the Names, Is. 9:6
For to us a child is born
to us a son is given;
and the government will be upon his shoulders,
and his name will be called
"Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God,
Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace."
3. Prophecy of the Mother, Is. 7:14
Behold, a young woman shall conceive and bear a son, and shall call his name Immanuel.
4. Prophecy of the City, Micah 5:2
But you, O Bethlehem Ephrathah, who are little to be among the clans of Judah, from you shall come forth for me one who is to be ruler in Israel, whose origin is from of old, from ancient days.
5. Prophecy of the Star and Scepter, Numbers 24:17
I see him, but not now;
I behold him, but not nigh;
a star shall come forth out of Jacob
and a scepter shall rise out of Israel

I read in an article about the O Antiphons that the first letters of the titles spell the phrase ERO CRAS, meaning "Tomorrow I will come." I love that and am going to put it up in golden letters during the Octave before Christmas, then I'll switch to EMMANUEL on Christmas morning.

I love that, too. It's actually the O antiphons in backwards order that spells it:
Emmanuel
Rex Gentium
Oriens
Clavis David
Radix Jesse
Adonai
Sapientia
