Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Can someone lead me to somewhere I can get a list? Books to read at a Jr high level? Ds is again asking good questions, "why aren't there any miracles now? If there are,why don't we hear about them? Why were they all such a long time ago?"
Again, HELP!!!
...and thanks..

I think we hear about them - on this list, and person to person. They are just not in the media.

I know that our family has received a miracle healing of one of our little girls. She was born with a lymphatic malformation. It has no cure, and is life long. She never received any treatment for it. We asked everyone we know, including the Dominican Sisters of Springfield; to pray for her through the intercession of Pope John Paul II. When she was 2, her doctor told us that her LM was gone, June 2007. She was 2 at the time. Her doc was Jewish and did not believe that her healing was miraculous. He did not even say she was healed, just that her LM was gone.

The Eucharist is a miracle performed every day in our churches at the hands of our priests.

The Church is very careful about declaring authentic miracles - for good reason. The way I have thought about it is that it's not that miracles aren't happening now but that they will be the inspiration for future Catholics.

We have many, many approved miracles to inspire us and in terms of Church history there are plenty of more "modern" miracles - even Lourdes and Fatima are really not that long ago when you think in terms of over 2,000 years of history.

Goodness look at Padre Pio or Solanus Casey or Therese Newman - incredible.
