I just picked up purple lights at the dollar store. They were in the Halloween section but I plan to use them for Advent.
I am sure Walmart probably has them as well. I paid $2.

I did this last year and everyone thought they were Ravens lights! (Our local NFL team!) Even my dd!

We placed purple lights on the tree for the last two years. I had to leave them in the states ... don't know what I will do this year, but I really loved the effect of celebrating Advent in this way!

And then in February get Pink at St. Valentines day.
It took me a bit to get it all together, but now I have a lovely Advent Tree!
We bought the small silver tree, the lights make it look purple and pink!

OOOO! Good idea! I'll have to look next week.
DH is very much more inclined to do more "religious living" these days...

I got a set of purple lights last week from Target - perfect for our Advent tree.
(for anyone interested - Michaels get purple wrapping paper in by Thanksgiving)
