Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yesterday I was at Hastings and checked through the sale book racks. I saw a boxed Catholic Student Bible and opened the box to check it out. It was a soft leather cover, flexible, just felt good, kwim? I didn't buy it because it was the New RSV-CE and I'm not a fan of inclusive language. My favorite Bible translation is the plain RSV-CE. I also like to use the old Jerusalem Bible especially for prayer. That said, I'm a pretty tactile person (could never use a Kindle because part of the "book experience" for me is holding it, turning pages, enjoying the smell of the book etc.) Anyway, I really wanted that Bible because it FELT so perfect. Large, good size print for middle-aged eyes, and that soft, flexible leather cover--very satisfying. I'd pick it up several times a day just for the joy of opening it up and reading it, if that makes sense. Today at Adoration I found myself praying that I could find a Bible like that in a "good" translation. Does anyone know of an RSV-CE that might fit the bill? I have the soft-cover (NOT leather) Ignatius edition with frustratingly tiny print. I really can't read it for more than a couple of minutes. It hurts my eyes.
Sigh. I want THAT Bible, just without the inclusive language changes. Does one exist?

I have the same Bible you have Mary Alice, for the same reasons. I'm camping out here because I've looked before and haven't come up with anything. How I'd love to find something with larger print in this translation.
