Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am getting ready to leave the house to take the boys camping. I'm not sure where we'll be going, possibly Amarillo. We're going to hit the road and see where the Lord takes us.

I hope to make more of these little trips in the future. What I need is a list of Catholic shrines and pilgrimage sites in the US. Then I can look them up and see where we want to go.

I found a link someone posted with a list of Marian sites, but I want more than just Mary. One of the reasons I'm thinking Amarillo is because I have seen pictures of a site with the Stations of the Cross in larger than life sculpture. If we were visiting my in-laws I would stop at EWTN or the Ave Maria Grotto at Saint Bernard Abbey in Cullman, AL.

I thought that we could all list places we have visited or would like to visit that the rest of us could use to plan our vacations and pilgrimages.

Any takers?

Loren, sounds wonderful! We had a thread a while back listing all the national parks we visited. Do you want to keep this in the US? Shrines, basilicas, historic missions, pilgrimages, must see chrches or religious spots? Here are some reference links:
