Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

hi,
I was looking at the Catholic Mosaic curriculum, it looks like it is once a week. I am not a Catholic but would like to incorporate the celebration of the life of Jesus through the church year, and also learning about the Saints. I do not know of anything similar that is not Catholic, and I am not "anti" Catholic in any way! But I was just wondering if the curriculum would be flexible enough to use as a non-Catholic. Maybe that will be hard for people here to know though!

Dear Angela,
I'm speaking as the proud mommy of her baby here , but I personally think Catholic Mosaic will add to your children's love of Jesus and the saints, not take away.

I can't speak as a non-Catholic but there are several non-Catholics at Five in a Row message board who have asked these same questions. I did a quick "mosaic" search there:

FIAR moms talk about Mosaic

And here is a blog post from a very sweet Methodist mom :

"I also got to read Cay Gibson's book Catholic Mosaic this week. I won a copy in one of her blog's bookwalks...Catholic Mosaic, though, I found especially touching. We're not a Catholic family, we're Methodist, but I always look for more books to draw out the liturgical year. I find myself wishing someone would write something as wonderful as her resource, for Methodists. I might have to do it myself (said the Little Red Hen)"

Thanks for asking, Angela.

Thanks for replying . It does look like a lovely program!

I imagine my "comfort level" with things Catholic is much higher than a typical Protestant--a Catholic friend in high school was part of the process of my coming to God, so I had a positive impression from day one. Some of the "mystical" elements are what intrigue me most! But I do need to work it out with dh and his comfort level, which is different than mine. BUT he is a history buff, and interested in the saints from that angle. So maybe I was wondering about approaching the curriculum in that way, these were people in church history . . .
