Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We recently got the Liturgy of the Hours, accompanied by the guide, and I'm still confused. I'm trying to see how it matches up with Universalis.... but I'm still befuddled. If anyone has the time, could you please walk me through each "hour", e.g.,

what to recite at 6 am
what to recite at 9 am, etc.

for this day, April 2 (or pick a specific day and I'll try to follow along with the guide), assuming that we say all the prayers and that we start at 6 am with the Morning Prayer? I just want to see if I'm understanding things correctly...

Thank you so much for your help!!

Stef,

Are you trying to do all the hours during the day, like monastic life? Or just trying to understand?

Hi Stef -- this from a previous post --

The Rosary Shop has made available a free download of their LOTH tutorial --

http://www.rosaryshop.com/

Scroll down to nearly the bottom of the page and you will find the link.

I have been praying the LOTH for 4.5 years, and found some info in this document that I didn't know and some things were clarified.

I also have read Divine Office for Dodo's and found the info from Rosary Shop to be easier to follow.

God Bless,

Melinda's link is awesome.

I also found this chart to be quite useful to see the line up of hours (although use caution with this site as it seems to be sedevacantist).

Universalis has a non chart form of the same information.

Both, Jenn -- though for now we're shooting for minimum -- Morning and Evening Prayer. But I'd like to at least understand better so that when I/we do have some extra minutes to sit and pray I *know* which part of the book to open to without having to spend 15 minutes just trying to figure out which Psalm or prayer or Hymn I should be using now.

I'll check out the links, gals! Thanks so much. And I might be back with more questions :)
