Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know about this magazine? Can you tell me about it? Is it in line with Church teaching? The website from which it comes is
here

I got a phone call asking me to buy a subscription in order to support the Franciscans. Just wondering if anyone knows anything about it.
Thanks!

Someone leaves their copy in our Adoration Chapel so I read that one. I really enjoy it. Often I see our own Karen Edmisten as a contributing writer.

My parents have St. ANthony's. It does have some liberal stuff--not as bad as the Catholic Reporter--but I think most would probably just say it is a bit "fluffy". Lots of Catholics seem to recommend Faith and Family and Catholic Register.

Just my 2 cents-

You have to sift through it. See Catholic Culture's review

I have a subscription to St. Anthony's Messenger- my mother-in-law buys it for me. I don't think I'd buy it of my own accord- Faith & Family seems more enjoyable to read, but I don't tend to be a big magazine-reader, anyway. I don't read a lot of fluff-anything, so my favorite magazine is This Rock, but if you are looking for faithful "light reading," I'd say St. Anthony's is fine.
