We highly recommend Mary's Big Surprise, which we found at our local Daughters of St. Paul bookstore. It's a board book with a fun little handle, that tells the story of Jesus' passion, death and resurrection from the view of Mary Magdalen--my 2yo loves it, and will "read" it herself, saying "Bang bang!" on the page of the crucifixion, just like Mommy reads it, and point out all the soldiers, and then point out JESUS! happily when we see him after the resurrection. My non-reading 5yo will "read" it all to her little sister, too. It's pretty short, but that's nice when we read it OVER AND OVER here
