Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My daughter is 5 and half years old. I'm assuming I should buy the first album for the 4-6 years old. When I purchase the album, is there anything else at Our Father's House that I should purchase with the album to get started?

Thank You,

Elizabeth

Elizabeth,

I actually bought the Mass kit and linens... and her Holy Week presentations (they were only $8). Then bought her album this summer!!

But I think you definitely need the Mass kit and linens.

FYI -- the Mass kit comes with its own set of presentations... but she also has several similar sets of Altar Presentations in the album. The ones in her album break things down more slowly. Her Mass presentations begin her album and then are interspersed throughout the album.

**Her album also has a presentation on the tabernacle which she sells at ourfathershouse, but I made my own for the sake of budget.

I *think* most everything else can be made/bought with items from a craft store.

i bought the altar linens, but not the entire Mass kit - just the basics - I had enough votive candles, etc. at home, and wasn't planning on doing the presentation using the tabernacle.

I'm needing clarification now. If I'm totally new at CGS and need a guide to walk me through the process of introducing presentations to my daughter, what is my best bet? I like the idea of just getting the Mass kit with linens and the Holy Week presentations if it explains step by step how to present it to Bernadette. Does the Mass kit and Holy Week presentation include instructions?

Also, do we have to first present the Parable of the Good Shepard before anything else?

Thank You,

Elizabeth

Heading out, but an expert could better tell you about order... but I didn't do the Good Shepherd first!

And yes, Mass Kit and Holy Week all come with presentations. Holy Week comes with an explanation of how to make the kit.

Elizabeth - also there are several old threads about Moira's albums -- I'm just having trouble these days finding the right ones!!

This one contains background about them... but there is a thread where JennGM compared CGS to Moira's albums, but I can't find it.

If you search CGS and read the threads, you can learn a ton! That's what I did. I would love to take CGS training, but I have no time... so I am grateful for all the posts, etc.

I had to search for "Moira" to find this thread where I compare. I would recommend Moira's albums and then reading Good Shepherd and the Child and Listening To God with Children by Gianna Gobbi. Those two books really help explain the CGS method. The two books Religious Potential of the Child and Religious Potential, 6-12 by Sofia Cavelletti are excellent, but easier to understand after reading the others I mentioned.
