I am looking for inexpensive, sturdy children's rosaries. Not the big wooden kind, but not the typical chain kind that my kids can break just looking at.
Any suggestions?
Thanks!

My boys have rosaries that have wooden beads strung on twine, but not the really big ones like they used as teethers as infants. Like this one, but I paid somewhere around $5 each locally for the ones they have. I purchased them at a church's gift shop.

You could make cord knotted rosaries like the Rosary Army makes (www.rosaryarmy.com). We like them, they are durable, and they are easy to make yourself.
God bless,
Christine

These are my favorite. My little guys love them, they don't pinch and are very durable. I've had them for years and not one has broken. (we have one of each color) I give them as baptism gifts.

I second the knotted cord rosaries, but you do have to be careful. If you buy them, make sure the knots are easy to distinguish between the Hail Mary's and the Our Father. If you make them yourself, you can control this, but we bought some for our kids a few years ago, and all the knots seem evenly placed which is frustrating for littles who are trying to learn which prayer to say where.
I have been tempted by the CHC rosaries myself. Am I the only person with enough rosaries for the entire county to come to my house and join in the family rosary?? I'm a sucker for a nice Rosary, and I'm always looking for a nice Rosary for the children.
Since I've confessed that I have....um....a lot of Rosaries. I'll mention this one, the Rosary Companion that my kids love. They like to use it in the car, and when they pray the Rosary on their own (it comes with an earpiece, and my 7yo son really likes it because he loses his place a lot, and this really helps him.

Thanks. We have a bunch of rosaries, too. Several are from my childhood when my brothers and I would make them. Others are the really cheap ones that come from various charities. Then we have the expensive ones (we used to own a Catholic bookstore) but the kids fight over them so we keep them up.
I would like to get them each a *personal* rosary to end the constant battles each night.

I third the knotted cord rosaries - we have a couple that I bought at a homeschooling conference. I love them because even the cross is knotted - so they are completely noiseless!!
