Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

My boys will be playing soldiers in our parish Passion Play next month. I am thrilled to have them involved with this project!

Now, we've obviously read and talked about the Easter story, but they are so visual. I thought I might look for a child-friendly movie to show them. (They are 6, 8 and 12.)

Has anyone viewed this DVD? It seems to have good reviews. Or can you recommend something similar?

Thanks for any suggestions.

I purchased the trilogy a couple of years ago based on a recommendation from these forums. We weren't disappointed.

It's very well done. My ds5 has watched it for two years now and becomes sad, but not frightened. I'd recommend it for your boys.

Thanks for asking about this, Dawn. I was laying in bed last night wondering if my dd, 12 and dd, 10 were old enough to watch Gibson's The Passion of the Christ this Lent...I am not so sure and then what about all the youngers? This should fit the bill for all of us.

Oooh, thanks for posting this! We've watched "The Gospel of John" last year, but it'll be nice to have something new, too. I hadn't seen this before ... Thanks for bumping it up.
