Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Do you pray the Luminious Mysteries?

Yes, I do - on Thursdays.

Yes, we do.      We only pray the rosary sporadically, as we alternate different types of prayer for our nightly family prayer, based on what we are in the mood for and how tired we are.      When we pray the rosary and it is "Luminous Day" (Thursday) then we pray those mysteries. However, dh often works late on Thursdays, so we probably don't do those as often as the others.

Yes, we do, on Thursdays, as suggested by JPII. I just love meditating on these mysteries.

On Thursdays... we pray them too!

However this old dog is having a hard time memorizing them!! My dh always leads the mysteries, so when he's away I have to look up the mysteries! It's humbling to lose your memory.

So today on the computer, I made "three part cards" for the kids to match the Luminous mysteries -- in hopes that in using these cards with them, *I* would remember them too!! (My cards look very homemade - "laminated" with packing tape no less, but I'm hoping they'll do the trick).

Already TMI Jenny... but it just happened that's how I spent the last hour and a half!

I think they are my favorite too.... I am so happy that JPII put them forward.

We also pray them on the feast days which are covered... Baptism, Transfiguration, when the Wedding at Cana is read, etc.

We pray them on Thursdays too and I love them... it's so beautiful to meditate on Christ's adult ministry!

We have The New Rosary in Scripture: Biblical Insights for Praying the 20 Mysteries by Ted Sri. I like the section on the Luminous Mysteries.

Thursdays, here, too. My favorite is the wedding feast at Cana. I am afraid I frequently bring that up to my dc as an example for them: see! Even Jesus had to do what his mother said.
