Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for a book about Saints. Right now we are using Little Book of Saints Vol. 1 and 2. My girls are 5yo and 6yo and they love it but we are nearing the end of Vol. 2. Are there any other Saint books that are for the younger ages?

I saw this one in the EWTN website. It's by Fr. Lovasik and its a set of 12 with over 150 stories about Saints. I cant find any sample pages but does anyone have this one? Book of Saints

If not, what do you use for this age group?. Dd's love reading about the Saints.

Here is a thread on picture books of saints.

I particuarlly like Saints Lives and Illuminations by Ruth Sanderson. It has lovely depictions of saints from the first millennium.

And the sequel, More Saints Lives and Illuminations with second century saints.

The illustrations are beautiful and great for that age of child.

CHC sells a nice one that is new and not by Father Lovasik. It is a big, hardcover. But the name and author escape me.

FYI -- This is just my opinion...but there are a few volumes of Father Lovasik (definitely 11 and 12) where the illustrations change to look make the saints look like soap opera stars.

We use the books for my little boys to look at during the family rosary. My four year old was staring at a picture of a saint drawn with an off the shoulder outfit with fire around her -- it didn't seem right, so we hid that book.

The earlier volumes of the series are much better imo.
