Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hello to all! This is WJFR's daughter...

I'm sure some of you are familiar with sites such as Ladies Against Feminism and Homeliving Helper, delightful places for the old-fashioned at heart to browse through. More specifically, there's the Young Ladies Christian Fellowship, which I've always loved to visit... a group of very sweet, feminine, and devout young women encouraging others young women to grow in godliness. While I simply love the website, I've always been a bit sorry that there was really nothing like it that was specifically Catholic.

So I've created A Maiden's Wreath, a place for young Catholic women who have a love for the old-fashioned and traditional to congregate... sort of the Catholic equivalent of the Young Ladies Christian Fellowship, and inspired by Father Lasance Catholic Girl's Guide. (ETA: Blog has moved to http://catholicyoungwoman.blogspot.com/)

Today, the first day of the Month of the Sacred Heart, is the grand opening. At the present it's just getting its feet off the ground; at some point I hope to gather a few more young ladies who wouldn't mind being contributors. The articles will be on numerous topics... anything that young Catholic women would find interesting, fun, or beneficial. The target age is teenage girls, though I hope those younger and older will also enjoy it.

Please stop by and take a glance at is, small as it is now, and say a little prayer for its success in bringing glory to God and inspiring young women to serve Him in the Holy Faith.

This is wonderful! I am going to send the link out to our Catholic Homeschool group. Or would you rather wait?

Will be praying for you to find contributors and other interested, like-minded, young ladies!

Thank you so much for all the encouragement and prayers! They're greatly appreciated.

Suzanne, oh, please do send the link to your homeschool group! I'm hoping that at some point it will be well-known amongst Catholic families, and I certainly wouldn't mind assistance in spreading the word about!

Yay! I can't wait until my daughter comes home from GS Horse Camp. She'll be very interested in this. Thank you, Rumpleteazer.

Mary-Therese, have a wonderful time in Ireland! I'll be thinking of you as I pass along the address to my sisters and others I think will be interested in A Maiden's Wreath.

I personally enjoyed your thoughts on Prudence in Feminine Dress. Excellent, thought provoking post.

Dear ladies, I've been working hard on pulling the blog together, though since the school year has begun it's been a bit more difficult to find the time to post. It's slow work, but your kind words and prayers have done so much to help, and to encourage me personally.

I wanted to bump this thread up again to bring new attention to it, and to request a favour... I can't tell you how grateful I would be if you would link to it on your blogs to help spread the word.

God bless!

My dear Miss Clare,

I would be happy to accomodate you, with your request. Please remind me upon your arrival, if I have been negligent. I am quite forgetful.

I do not get much blog traffic......but if ONE person finds your blog......it will be well worth it. (And, I KNOW one will    ) Lovely.

In the sweet heart of Mary,

Clare,

I'll spread the blog addy far and wide -- my dh teaches theology to seniors so they're a perfect audience too. I'll also mention it to my daughter and her friends ....

THANKS so much for creating this blog ... it's a VERY good thing you're doing.

Blessings and prayers

P.S. Please tell your mom she should be proud of how well she's schooled you ... you write beautifully and the philosophy behind your posts is amazing!
