Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

In our journals this year, we have been including copywork, drawings, reflections on the Faith - Pope John Paul ll, Pope Benedict XVLl, Corpus Christi, the visit of the relics of St Anthony to our parish and so on.

I am looking for ideas on what to include in our journals for the Year of the Eucharist. We have talked about it. We have attended extra Adoration. I'd like a record in our journals.

Any suggestions or websites?

TIA!

Leonie,

What about a study of the various Eucharistic miracles which have happened?
This is My Body, This is My Blood Miracles of the Eucharist by Bob and Penny Lord would be a good starting point. I just was looking in my book which states they have a 2nd book on Eucharistic miracles.

I am blanking out on which Pope Pius lowered the age of receiving the Eucharist but you could study his writings.

What about the saints' writings on the Eucharist? You could start with your family's favorite saints and see what they have written about the Eucharist.

I know reading about Pope John Paul II, Archbishop Fulton Sheen and Mother Teresa's love of adoration has helped to inspire me. I can relate to them b/c they lived in our times and prayed for many of same things we pray for today. ie: end of abortion

Sorry, if this completely rambling. We have been sick the past few days and feeling low.

Marybeth,

Thanks for the ideas. I am going to look online when I am better - I have the flu. It must be the sickness time of year.

Leonie,

Feel better soon!

We are hopefully on the mend here in Chicago. I can't believe we are in opposite seasons feeling lousy. ugh!

A wonderful and holy saint to study would be St. John Chrysostom b/c he is the Doctor of the Eucharist.
