Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

DH and I are heading a Bible Study/Catechism/Apologetics group starting in May. The original plan was just us and our high schooler, then another homeschooling teen said she'd like to join us, then the leader of the youth group our teen belongs to, and now possibly a couple more adults and another teen or two. I'm thinking of Didache/Understanding the Scriptures by Scott Hahn.... is this adequate/will this cover all three? We also have Beginning Apologetics, the CCC, and different versions of the Bible as supplements.... anything else we should consider? Any other ideas on how to proceed with this? We will be meeting weekly, though some may not be able to attend but twice a month or even once a month.

This is mostly because we adults feel our catechesis was inadequate or we need a refresher; and the teens need to be prepared to defend the faith when they get to college -- the other teens are public schoolers who only got RelEd instruction at their parish, apparently not enough.

Thanks for any and all suggestions/ideas/recommendations.

I really like the San Juan Catholic Seminars Catholic Apologetics Series. They are short, yet thorough. I think there are 10 in the series now and they're fairly inexpensive.

We did something like this when my boys were in high school. There were several other homeschooled teens who joined us. We primarily used The Scott Hahn Adult Education videos put out by St Joseph Communications... but we already owned them.
