Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Something to check into:
St. Charles Borromeo Sunday Mass Readings offers a great line by line explanation of the Sunday Mass readings. It often explains the significance of something or the history behind something, and it may tell of what just happened in the chapter before that particular reading. I have been using this for one and a half years and my nine year old who likes this sort of thing reads it every week, too (I have to preview as some weeks may include adultery.)

I print it off on scrap paper DH brings home from the office. Normally it is five to seven pages long. I keep it on our kitchen table and we read it at some point prior to Mass. It's not really spiritually enlightening like the Magnifcat, but it's wonderful for having a deeper understanding of the Mass readings.

It's also offered on Holy Days of Obligation.

Hope you like it!
I can't remember how I learned about it.

Thanks for sharing this. I will definitely bookmark it!
I was just last week relating to my Scripture Study friends how wonderful it has been studying the Gospel of Luke this year and getting insights into some of the history/meaning behind stories and passages I've heard all my life... I feel bad for other people 'in the pew' who are listening and don't know some of that... It would be wonderful for everyone to have that knowledge and insight...
