Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I bought at Elizabeth's suggestion, the St. Therese of Liseux Rosary CD. I love it. I have taught myself how to pray the rosary and it is very calming to me. Even my 6 year old has learned it in a matter of days.

I just have one question. Since I come from a protestant background, the end of the Lord's Prayer goes like this:

"...and lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from the evil one. For thine is the kingdom, the power, and the glory, for ever and ever. Amen."

I see this last part is not the way it is said in the Rosary.

I'm just curious as to the difference if anyone knows.

Linsdey,
Catholics use this part of the prayer after the Our Father during the Mass.

Lindsey, it's a great question, because as a Catholic I have never known either...

I found this Catholic link that explains the difference.

As to why we add it in the Mass, I found this quote:

"I just tell catechumens that the Catholic version of the Our father is the same as the Gospels and that we add the epilogue later after the priests words as a liturgical conclusion or an eccliesial addition in the same way that the Didache taught us to pray the Our Father."

Not that I understand that explanation as to why it is in the Mass, maybe someone does?

Yea! I'm so glad!
