Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Yesterday my parish received a $1000 grant, to be used for purchasing books for a new library for all the religious ed. students.

They asked me if I could give them some recommendations, but they only want religious, and geared to children from 6 up to 14.

I have a list of the books from Catholic Mosaic, and the books from the Confirmation list that Elizabeth put together.

Can you help me out and come up with any others?

Thank you!

I don't know if this is on either of the lists you already have, but A Child's Missal is a really lovely book. My son enjoyed just looking at it during Mass and looking at and having parts read to him at home at 4, so I think both the pictures and the text could be valuable for the entire age range you cited.

How wonderful Paula! Here are a few I can think of...

My Path to Heaven...plus sample page
Any of Mary Fayban Windeatt's saint books
The Book of Saints & Heroes
Fabiola
Catholic Picture Bible
Picture Book of Saints
Saints Lives & Illuminations
Can You Find Saints?

I'd even add this traditional catechism because of the 66 A4size pictures!
Catechism in Pictures here is a link to my thread about this book last year on the forum, it shows you the beautiful pictures

Encounter the Saints Series from Pauline Books

Saints books are really good to have, especially when doing confirmation preparation. How about reference books, like Butler's Lives of the Saints?

Amy Welborn's books would be a nice addition.
