Igatius Press is pulling all products by Charlotte Church because of her recent public (sacrilegious?) ridicule of the Pope, Eucharist, Mary...according to this post.
What a shame...sounds like she needs some prayers.
But for those that have her music already, do you tell your children to pray for her, just listen and make no comment?
I know we've "banned" secular artists when their public displays don't agree with our family values or what the Faith teaches...but I'm just wondering if you take that extreme line with past purchases of something religious?

Oh, what a shame. She has (had) such a gift.

She has made no secret of her deviant, sinful life style. We got rid of ours already.
I can't enjoy the music knowing she has rejected all I hold dear. Of course it makes no real difference to her, but it's just an emotional thing for me.

I would toss them. It just wouldn't be the same knowing who is behind the music. Isn't it hard to find entertainers who are decent?
So sad. . .

This is so disappointing! I just found a CD of hers at a yard sale for $0.50, it's heading to the garbage now. I plan to use it as a good teaching moment for my children. We will never tolerate our Faith being trashed!

This is so sad....my daughter had all of her CDs including two DVDs (the duet with Josh Groban is so beautiful) and was singing along over the years so beautifully with the song choices. We loved the Christmas choices, too, on the Christmas album. Such great classical and Celtic pieces that are rare to find.
May I recommend a wonderful voice that is "pure as an angel's" (what people said about C.C but I think this one is better) and as far as I know she has not done anything publically sacreligious: Hayley Westenra. She is our choice now for that type of youthful, clear sound and classical pieces.

I never really liked Charlotte Church. Her voice was too operatic and not true to her age. Someone on this board pointed out that she's not one to emulate in singing style, but rather the clear, crystal voices like the Vienna Choir Boys. Now I love that sound!

Ah, a beautiful voice indeed! Bridal Ballad from The Merchant of Venice is a favorite of mine.
You can hear song snippets on her website. Truly lovely.
God Bless!

Us, too.
Yes, yes, yes.
Good, Michele---glad that someone else is a fan.
Check out "River of Dreams" which is really a Vivaldi ("Winter") piece with words put to it!

Thanks, Nina, for recommending Hayley Westenra. I had never heard of her, but after hearing the clips on her website, I will definitely be buying some of her music.
