Those complicated ones are beautiful -- I'll be lucky if I can get a simple cross to come out well.

thanks for the links, gals!!! my daughter learned to make some of these last year. in the philippines where hubby and i are from, the palms that you bring into church before Mass begins are already woven into beautiful pieces (they look more like swords -- there's the middle branch, and it's the handle that's been woven into many designs and decorated with flowers).

Impressive! So, Googling around, the palm weaving is a tradition in many countries. Philippines, Italy, Poland are the three I found immediately, but I'm sure there are more! So interesting!

I just came across this and wanted to say thanks. I'll have to save these directions for next year our palms are all dried out. I wish I saw it earlier, my sons and husband would have loved this. Thanks for all the links.
