Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

On a whim I picked this book up at Marshals: Fill In the Blank

It has been a real hit with my dc that love coloring books!    Honestly, all my children have been clamoring to get a chance to fill in a page. It has really engaged my 7-12 year old kids the most.

In order to not offend, there are a few pages that *might* cause a issue. Is a blank row of wine bottles, an old roman sculpture of a woman not wearing a shirt    , row of bottles of beer, two pages called Tattoo artist with a shirtless man and the back of a shirtless women.

Now, I don't think that these pages are too problematic, but they might be...so you can easily rip those pages out or talk about them.

The ones that my kids have LOVED, so far are:
Row of empty ice cream cones
Small boxes for comic strip
Row of sneakers
Row of Soccer Players
Row of Ginger Bread Men
Row of empty "snow" globes

This is really a big book that would last the most creative kid quite a while to fill in.   Over all it has been a great activity for my dc!!!

Wow, this is a great recommendation! I've been trying to convince my 13 year old son to draw more; he used to do it a lot but now says "I don't know what to draw." This would certainly inspire him--a perfect gift for his Easter basket, perhaps.

I think this book would get the creative juices pumping again for your son.

IMO, it really helps spur creativity without the dreaded "blank sheet" fear!

If you get the book let me know what you think....

I got a few small doodling books like these for my 6yo son and daughter a few months ago, and I think they could really appeal to any age. There are quite a few out there right now. We also have this bigger one but haven't tried it yet. I'm thinking of trying one myself! :)

And, I agree I want to get one for myself, as well! It looks so fun!!!!!

Thanks for the suggestions! Those little Dover books look like a perfect little thing to give them on Valentine's Day. (I have a heart pocket that I hang on the back of their chairs in the dining room. I fill it with a few little surprises for them to discover on Valentine's Day morning.)
