Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

For a couple years I've been keeping my eyes out for large art prints, without success. I would just love 1 larger-size (12x12 ish or bigger) for each of the major artists. Suggestions?

I suggest looking at calendars. This time of year you can get good discounts, too.

This has reminded me of the poster company that would visit our university campus at the beginning of term as many of the posters were fine art ones (I bought a copy of Dali's Christ of St. John of the Cross from them]

I've found that if you google for the work of art you are interested in, a number of the sites will be that of sellers of fine art prints or posters. Most sell the prints in a variety of sizes.

If you want to buy a collection of prints at a not unreasonable cost, the Art Masters Enhance Religion programs come with large 11” x 14” art prints.

Love to Learn

I've bought the Junior High course. The booklet gives quite a bit of information for each print as well as thought provoking questions. It's quite meaty.

The prints are a mix of works by famous masters and lesser known works which fit the overall theme.

I've had success with purchasing at Art.com. They seem to have an amazingly large selection of art ~ you'll be amazed at the artists, genre, theme, etc. you can browse per price selection, size, etc. But the best part, of course, is that they are all reasonably priced (without being framed). I've purchased several prints from them and just framed them myself. I could spend hours browsing

I have temporarily satisfied my desire for prints with the finding of this book:

Masterpieces of Art

It's a huge coffee-table-book (17x14") with prints of the most famous pieces of artwork throughout history. (Okay, I know that's very subjective, but you know what I mean.) The Amazon link above has a review at the bottom with a list of all the artwork. It includes the entire Sistine chapel ceiling on a 2-page spread.

184 pages total.

There is of course some nudity in the book, like the statue of David. (I'm personally okay with the depictions in this book. I've turned down many other art books because the nudity was in there for it's own sake!)

The new book price is listed as $137, but I got mine for $20 at Hastings book store.
