Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Donna, I have not seen that.

I think I posted those resources before. The Ward Method done by Justine Ward was a wonderful method.

But there are other free resources to learn. I think the key is the mother/parents learn, to teach their children. But all can be done in small chunks. Listening is key. But also just learning a few antiphons or simple hymn or part of the Mass for a liturgical season.

Anyway, old threads:

Sol-fa?

St. Gregory the Great

On my blog I had a few posts, this one in particular.

There are really so many choices from MusicaSacra.com, many free along the sidebar.

After talking with a few other ladies who teach homeschoolers chant, a consensus is that Gregorian Chant Master Class is really, really good to learn the basics. This is available from various sources, including GIA and Sacred Heart Books and Gifts.

I don't know much about it but Mr. Michael announced that CLAA is opening up a Vocal Music online class this fall in partnership with someone who is trained in the Ward Method. The class should be open in Sept. 2010. My 12yo daughter is very excited about it! :)
