Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anybody using these? How do you like them? How do your children like them? How does this curriculum compare to others?

I am thinking about getting the Artpac 2 for my 2nd grader. I always get this lofty ideas about doing art but it doesn't happen. I am thinking that if I get something like this it would be easy to follow along without much planning on my part, am I right?

Thanks,

We really enjoy them and have them all.
It's simple without being boring and yet gives great results.
And really they are so cheap that it's worth a try. That's how I was hooked in on them.

We bought some three years ago when we used CHC and still have not used all the activities. They are fun to pull out when a child has time and gets them using skills you might not otherwise think of on your own. They generally do not take a lot of planning, but you do have to read and follow the directions.

I tried to use the grade 1 pac for my son, but he didn't like it very much. It was mostly coloring and cutting. We decided to give Artistic Pursuits a try and like it much better.

I have to second Artistic Pursuits. My kids love it, and it is SO EASY... no prep work really once you've purchased all the recommended supplies (which are very basic) and have them on hand.

Today we did a unit on Medieval Tapestry... my entire prep time was five minutes of cutting fabric squares. Then I pulled out the oil pastels... and voila! Each kid made three squares, and they loved it. It was novel for them to color on fabric, and the oil pastels made their pictures so vivid.

We have not hit a "dud" lesson yet (we're on lesson 22). I am very pleased with all the styles we've explored. It's way beyond cut and paste and still so easy... and so much fun. I love how excited the kids are about the projects.
