We borrowed this book from the library on our library trip last night. A lovely book!

There are reproductions of famous works of art - and some with minor differences. The reader has to help solve the puzzle for Mr Barrett, from the Town Gallery - which are fakes and which are the real works of art?

Clues and explanations are provided. My 12 year old is sitting down right now, with a hand drawn table and a magnifying glass, and setting out to be an "art fraud detective"!.

The author is Anna Nilsen.

My library didn't have that one , but they had another one called The Great Art Scandal : Solve the Crime, Save the Show! -- which sounds very similar and is also by Anna Nilsen.

Keep the recommendations coming -- you'll get us unschooling (with me strewing all the way) yet!

And my library system also lists Art Auction Mystery by Anna Nilsen as on order. It is new in 2005. Thanks for the heads up, Leonie. These sound really interesting and fun.
