I really appreciate the suggestions and encouragement you all have given me regarding our fine arts day. My one son is relieved.

I do remember coming across a suggested website almost a year ago that had coloring page replicas of fine art masterpieces. It also had some pages on artists for children to study. Does this ring a bell with anyone? I think my children would really like this.

I'll keep you posted on our next fine arts day. We're studying the Crucifixion by Cimabue and Bach. Already the children asked that I not put this picture on our screensaver. I think they don't mind studying it but to see it everyday was too much. We're enjoying Bach very much.

Enchanted Learning has some coloring pages like that.

I also posted some art activity links on the Color theory thread. There were a couple of online activities that used paintings to demonstrate monochromatic and complimentary schemes.

My kids really prefer coloring a xerox of the painting. If you can get a good black and white copy, they can have fun filling in the detail and see the "Real McCoy" as they color. And it's cheap!
