Hi, Journey-ers North! As you know, the boards will be closed to new posts during the first ten days of Lent. Since that encompasses two Fridays, I am going to set up an alternate venue for us to share our photoperiod data during those weeks. I don't know about you, but if my family loses momentum on a project like this, we're apt to let it go altogether!
So I wondered what your preference would be for our temporary venue:
1) A Yahoogroup
2) Posting your data in the comments of a blog (I could set up a temporary one or we could just do it at Lilting House.)
Whichever we choose, I'll put a link here on the boards so you'll be able to find it easily.
Love to know your thoughts!

I would probably vote for the temporary blog comment section, since we would be able to see it all in one space (instead of individual emails).
Thanks for doing this, Lissa - when I saw the Lenten hiatus I also first thought - "What about the Mystery Class threads?"

I'm not in the Mystery Class, but I just wanted to point out that the boards aren't closed ALL of Lent, just the first and last weeks of Lent...so that's a month of posting in between.

Actually, it's the first ten days of Lent and then it's all of Holy Week. So, Lissa is correct that you'll miss two Fridays this first time around. I'm not familiar with the project, but if it lasts until Good Friday, you'd miss that one too.

I don't have a preference. Whatever is easiest for the leader!

I know it's just a few short periods of time and not all of Lent. Since we do need to post info during those times, we will use one of these alternate venues - no problem.

I shouldn't have made a comment. I got the impression from the many responses in other threads that people think the boards will be closed all of Lent. My apologies for putting my nose in where it doesn't belong!

I definitely like the idea of having all the info in one space.
We spent all morning having fun with Journey North stuff, Marianna took a basic outline map of the world and figured out where everyone was and drew lines across with the photoperiods that we gave 1/29 listed, then we compared where we thought the most likely location of the mystery classes would be, some obviously in the Southern Hemisphere others not. We sure were wishing some of our Australian friends had joined in the fun! Point is, I had so many windows open to various 4Real threads and Journey North itself, if I'd had to keep flipping back and forth messing with emails too, I might not have encouraged and pursued this instead of a lesson in math.

No problem, Jenn - stick your nose in anywhere. I like to see it!

Of course she can. I was just trying to clear up any confusion on this board. I went to the other boards and clarified there, too. My apologies for not being clear in the original post.

A separate blog would be fun - I'll just follow along with whatever you all decide.
