Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

What would you recommend as a good first Children's Atlas for the K-3 level? I would like to purchase one for our home library.

I'm interested in this also. We have a huge map on the wall, but no globe or atlas. Can't wait to see what others say!

Well, as far as maps and atlases go, I am a believer in using quality materials form the start.
Here is what we have and we all use and love:

DK Atlas of the World(we have an older edition, but same thing. The kids love this one as it is so big)

Geography of the World I really like this one. Lots of great maps plus excellent text.

and of course, this:
Rand McNally Road Atlas

I like to have a real, grown-up atlas (NG--the big one) in the house, and I let the kids use it from when they are interested. For a quick hands-on atlas for the younger kids, I have the National Geographic Young People's Atlas. It's colorful and easy to use. We also live to use Google Earth for every little trip or question.

ShawnaB has THE READER'S DIGEST CHILDREN"S ATLAS OF THE WORLD.......I THINK it is one of her 6yo son's favorite books......since he was quite young!....but, it is not a YOUNG book.....he is just precocious!

I love it........and, I am off to order my own copy........FINALLY! I have been planning to for years!

Blessings!
