Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Is anyone familiar with this program? The full title is Remembering God's Awesome Acts: Create-a-notebook bible and history series by Susan Mortimer. It's from the same people as Considering God's Creation that we have used in science.

Thanks ladies.

I've seen it. Its time consuming. It takes a protestant approach to Genesis/Exodus, but I don't remember thinking at the time that it looked anti Catholic at all. Its used in Sonlight's core 5. Most of the moms on the SL Cath. list bypass it but I'm not sure why, as I've never seen any really negative posts about it. Sonlight specifically does not recommend it with children under 5th grade. If you liked CGC, it might be a great fit for your family.

I have this--

It is a lot of intensive paperwork, creating a notebook. Some of it is pretty neat, but it is time-intensive, and I think it would be hard to do the full program on top of other history. I am a "former Sonlighter" w/many Sonlight friends--I have one friend who absolutely loved it, and another whose children hated it--it seems to be one of those love or hate sort of programs.

The Scripture interpretation seems very protestant--it encourages the "inductive" approach, and is definately conservative young-earth re. creation. There are some worksheets to use in conjunction w/studying missions (protestant). But actually I am not a Catholic so I can't speak to how it would strike Catholics very well.

It is an easy program to pick and choose from however. That is how I used it. I used some of the investigative sheets on Abraham, Mesopotamia and Cuneiform, Egypt and the Plagues, Joseph, etc. while we were doing ancient history. I thought some of the worksheets are very well done and thought provoking. I was able to preview a friends' set, and for myself I only ordered the Notebook/worksheets portion, not the Teachers Guide.

HTH!
