Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I really, really want to teach my kids ASL. Not just with the cutesy, Signing Time videos here and ther, but in a real, systematic way. My sister- in-law is deaf and their three boys all sign. So this is a practical need/want in our educational goals. We don't live near them so our family doesn't get nearly the practice as do the family members who are there ( some of my own siblings have become fluent now)... but we see them 5-6 times a year and it would just be really neat and meaningful to acquire this skill.

Does anyone have any ideas? Is there a Rosetta Stone like program out there that is kid friendly?

I once took an ASL class at our local community college...
if there is one in your area, maybe you could barter for a free class or to have a student or instructor come to your home and teach everyone?

Also- You Tube might be a great resource for this... sometimes the library has a solid dvd course available (or you could recommend one for them to purchase).

Even if YouTube only got you started, I am sure your SIL and family would love that you are making a real effort

And you could video chat through facebook or something like skype.. having that outlet for using it will help with whatever program you find to use.
