Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I am coming up blank in my searches here so I am hoping those of you that have used these textbooks could answer my questions...

I am wondering do the Teacher's Manuals for either Light to the Nations Part 1 or Part 2have an accompanying booklist of living books to read with each chapter like FSTSS does?

Yes.
They have a 4- 5 page resource list in the back of each.

Oh fantastic!

So there is an additional reading list?

And are the books listed per per chapter? Similarly to the list that Mater Ambalis put out for FSTSS.

Yes, the books/movie suggestions are ordered by chapter in the resources section at the back of the teacher guide.

I don't know how it compares to the list from MA. I'll go check...

I'm looking through my FStSS guide and the chapter additional readings are more extensive than MA and with a quick survey, I *think* all the books listed on MA are also in the guide. So no new offerings there.

But yes, it's ordered by chapter and it is a fairly good list of many options most weeks as far as I can tell.

I have another question....

All my living books are in chronological order. What I am discovering is MODG grade uses the Old World and America as a spine starting with ancients but the 8th grade syllabus finishes it's studies right before the early modern era. Which has left me with a shelf of living books that run from roughly 1500s to roughly after WWII and JPII.

Is Light of the Nations Part II a good spine book to cover this time period where OWA leaves off in MODG 8th?

Let me say that I am asking without owning either of these textbooks, so if OWA goes further than MODG uses in their 8th grade syllabus and will cover this era please let me know....

I cannot really answer this question, but I have discovered that many history materials in this country kind of stop with a detailed history description around 1500 and then jump to American history. European history then is only covered in connection to American history.
