Hi Friends,

As I am making my plans heavily based off of Mater Amabilis, I am wondering if any of you have used the “Book of Marvels” by Richard Halliburton for level three geography? If you have, what do you think? Is there something similar that you like better? I can order it off of Abe, but wanted some feedback first.

We are using it this year for 6th grade. It was recommend by an amazing CM mother that has used it for a few of her kids.

One caveat is that, while the Book of Marvels is wonderful, some of his other writing is not appropriate for kids....definitely pre-read other books by him.

Well....I sort of made up my own using a little bit of Ableside and Childlight USA and a lot of the woman mentioned above!

This year was a scramble. For the past 2 years I had been poilting the Childlight USA curriculum. However, for a host of reasons, that wasn't possible this year and I had to scramble to put together year 6!!!!!!!!!!

Over all I am happy with what we have going on. We are in week 2ish.

Wait a minute. ChildLight has a curriculum? where is that?

Well.....all I can say is they were working on one! I had been a part of a small group of women who were piloting it for the last 2 years.

As of now I would not expect anything any time soon. Please keep the Childlight USA Curriculum in your prayers. What was done was so beautiful and rich.
