Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I have been very much enjoying reading through this resource which came through my mailbox today:History In the Movies.
It is a compilation of articles from history professor Cathy Schultz in which she discusses the historical authenticity (or lack thereof) of 50 different historical films. Very informative!
I also came across a link to this site:History and Movies which lists movies by historical period. It's a nice list if you are trying to find a film to coincide with a time period you are interested in. It does not, however, review the authenticity of the films like the other site does.
I think in combination the two sites could be very helpful!
Hope that helps someone!

These are fantastic resources! Thank you for posting these, Theresa. I did wonder why Henry V (directed by Kenneth Branagh) was rated so low on the History and Movies site...I thought that was a fantastic movie, though not for the younger set.

It is a fantastic movie, no doubt about it. I wouldn't pay any attention to the ratings on that site. Anyone can vote and they don't even have to give a reason why they don't like it. Silliness.

Thanks Theresa, I just bookmarked them. We love these types of movies; it's nice to have them catergorized by time period
