Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was thinking I would use Ten Dates Every Catholic Should Know as the spine for my rising 7th grader's history next school year.

Anyone else ever done something like this? I was going to sit down and work through it and look for some living books to go along with each chapter for him. But I thought I'd see if anyone here has ever done such a thing too?!

Any ideas?

Kacky, chiming in to offer my thanks to you for mentioning the book as well! It has been woefully neglected on our bookshelves, waiting to find its place in our studies. Thanks to your timely post it will fill in the gaps quite nicely for a Church history timeline project we're embarking upon!

Hope your 7th grader truly enjoys learning the importance of 10 dates this particular Catholic didn't know before getting the book!

Kacky, This looks really interesting. I'll look forward to seeing what you come up with. My dd will be 7th grade next year.

We did this some time ago. I had the kids make a divider for their binders for each of the dates...illustrated it with appropriate symbols and each a different color, that kind of thing. Other books and resources were placed behind those for the year. Worked out well!
