Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was looking it over. I've never heard of it before.

What did you think of it, Natalia? Were you attracted to the high school level?

I was looking at the elementary and found it limited, for several reasons, if I was reading correctly. They are writing a new book of history, right?

I didn't find the writing that attractive, not engaging in a narrative style. To have only one book, written in one style feels boxed-in to me, as I like to vary perspectives and writing styles, also try to pull in primary sources when possible.

But that was just my cursory glance, and maybe I just didn't understand the program at all. Wouldn't be surprising.

When I was looking it over the first time, I was looking at the high school level. The high school plans are based on the plans used by the blog's author's parents when he was in high school. So, he is trying to recreate those plans. It has a potential, I think, to be a great outline for a humanities course. I like the list of primary and secondary sources. You could really flesh it out and make it work, if you were so inclined.

I think the elementary program has the same potential: as an outline. I know they are working on it and maybe some day it would be a full fleshed course. I agree with you on the writing. It strikes me more as an introduction to a story rather than the story itself. I noticed that sometimes a story takes you to another book they suggest. So I don't think they are proposing only to use the write up they offer.

I hope they finish it- it is Catholic and the idea of offering their work free online with links to stories and books, seems like a good idea.
