Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

When you're fitting books and persons and events in timeline or chronological order, my big question comes when there is a person. Do you fit that person at his Date of Birth?

And what about crossovers, when a person or event spans two centuries? Where do you put them generally?

That is something I find myself questioning on many occasions. I am not consistent - sometimes I do go by birthdate but sometimes by the event they are most associated with. And often times I include separate pages or points on a timeline for the different dates.

Ditto. Also not consistent. Sometimes, we'll put the person's name at his DOB, but add an illustration for something significant about his life that came later.

I think I put the person at the significant events.. but give his DOB-DOD at that point too.

If I was to go down a timeline narrating it.. it would seem silly to me to say..

And then George Washington was born.. and go onto events that have nothing to do with him for 20 or 30 years.

We do it by date of significant contribution, but we always put birth/death dates underneath the picture as well.
