Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hey y'all, dh was on an overnite retreat last night so I took the gang to Chick-Fil-A. They're happy meals are much better (healthwise) and the "toy" is usually pretty good today.

Well this month and next they're giving away "Crafts for the Past" booklets. There are 4 booklets, each dealing with a different ancience civilization -- Aztecs, Egyptians, Greeks, and Vikings.

We got the Aztec one and it has some great overview of the Aztec culture and then some really creative (but not too difficult) crafts to do. Really a great "collectible" for my resource shelf

Thanks for the tip, Mary.
Sounds great...so much better than cheap plastic toys that you step on throughout the house.

We have a Chick-fil-A near us. Matter of fact, a local Catholic homeschool family owns it. They are wonderful!

It's a shame we give up eating out completely for Lent. Oh, well, another sacrifice. Perhaps I could get my friend to get us some of the booklets though.

Thanks for mentioning.

Ooh, I miss Chik-fil-A!    When we lived in TX it was my favorite fast food place to go. There aren't any around here in CT!
They had a really nice set of the planets a year or two ago, although we were never able to get all 9.

Truett Cathy is an amazing, high energy man. I heard him speak while at college and was very impressed - his closed on Sundays, no exception, nation wide policy is unheard of today. He also runs the WinShape Camps for kids, and foster care programs, and even marriage retreats.
Besides, his chicken is delicious!
I didn't think we had a Chick-fil-A nearby but thanks to the good old internet I found one within 37 miles!
