Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I'm looking for good books on British geography. My library has zero. I would really like to find at least one book with some good photos in it. We're studying medieval Britain right now and have had lots of questions about what is a heath, what is a moor, what is a fen... etc., etc.

What a great topic

We haven't studied it formally -- just by looking out of the window on car journeys! -- but on my shelf there's the Eyewitness Travel Guide to Great Britain. Leafing through it, there are lots of nice pictures (and fen is indexed!). It's on Amazon here -- $0.92 secondhand!

There's also the Usborne Guide to Britain which I saw in the charity shop today, but didn't buy, so I don't know what it's like inside...

Oh, you may have already got this, but I would heartily recommend The Wool-pack as a great work of fiction for medieval Britain. I loved the book as a child, and my dd does too -- she read it when she was 7ish but it would be fine for older ones too, I'd think.
