Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Does anyone know anything about this Drive Thru History DVD series? I'd never seen it until today, and I'm curious about it (not as a history spine, but as a potential supplement to history studies)...

I remember watching one of them by way of preview. We got it free for renewing our membership for 2 years with HSLDA. I honestly don't remember which one it was and my husband did more of the previewing since he is more of a movie person and I'm more of a book person. I do remember it was rather lame - seemed a bit too silly to us and I know my dh didn't want to keep it even to show once to the kids (I don't think he found anything particularly objectionable about it, just annoyed him and seemed silly). Now, we were just doing a quick perusal before deciding what to do so I doubt I can give you more than our gut impressions - not a really thorough review or anything, so keep that in mind. Also, we generally don't tend to like things that approach factual events with humor or time travel kind of stuff so this may be more of a personal bias than a full assesment (I really couldn't stomach a lot of the Inside the magic schoolbus science books - they drove me batty and bored me to tears) and we are in the Bible belt so some of the tone may just annoy us.
It is a bit from the Protestant perspective - not necessarily going to bother the folks that don't have a problem using Story of a World kind of thing but it may depend on what history is being covered. It just was not for us. I do know it is immensely popular here in the Bible belt and someone scarfed mine up pretty quickly and thought they had hit the jackpot. I think I have another one lying around and if I do, and I find it, I'll let you know more specifically - and/or if we decide to ditch it, you can have it for postage.
