Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Hi Ladies,
I just found out about 2 new resources:

Joanna Bogle has a book coming out this fall called English Catholic Heroines.

Bogle

and a place called Mary's Dowry Productions is making films! They look amazing. I just ordered the Edmund Campion one. I'll let you know how it is.

Campion

Anybody else seen these?

I haven't seen the films, but have saved the bookmark and keep looking longingly at it...

Am looking forward to Joanna's new book. Please note the name dropping. I have met her in person and she's even more fascinating than on paper!

Elizabeth, you are so blessed!
I love Joanna's work and it is so good to see some focus on the English saints.

There is a companion book to this already in print ...

English Catholic Heroes

Carole, if your parish would like Joanna to come and speak it's well worth dropping her a line via her blog. She came to talk to our Catholic Families group and was so enthusiastic. She has a real passion for living the liturgical year and is keen to share it. She does travel all over, too, so she might even make it to the wilds of Wales

Thanks for the information, Elizabeth. You just said the magical words "living the liturgical year." One of my passions as well (even in the wilds of Wales)!

Thanks for letting me know about the men's book, Kathryn. Have you read it?

I will certainly report back on the movie, Celeste!

I promised I would review this, sorry it's taken so long.

I thought the movie was a bit of a mixed bag, though overall worth seeing. Some parts were painfully/obviously low budget. Most parts were fine. The main actor and narrator did a beautiful job! If you were showing it to kids who had not seen tons of movies, they would not complain.

God bless,
ck
