Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

We are studying World Literature, Cultures and Geography next school year and I was wondering if the 4real members in foreign countries would mind mailing us a postcard from their country. We did this when we did US Geography two years ago and it was so much fun.

We would love to mail postcards back to you wherever you are - though we have no big travel plans for the next year, so Washington DC/Virginia would be the only ones we would probably send.

We have family in a lot of places we knew we were going to be doing this study a while ago - so we have already started receiving postcards from Africa, Europe, Asia - the children are setting up a "postcard wall"

Another thing we are doing in conjunction with the postcards - each child has a "passport" and a book of flag stickers that they get to "stamp" their passport with whenever we "visit" a country. Together with the postcards it is a substite for actually visiting all these wonderful places - which we can't do right now

I like this idea, Marilyn. I live in WI and so wouldn't help with the different country aspect, but it would be fun to do between states as well especially if we sent postcards that had pictures with something special from our area. A blog page was doing something similar to this, but I was leery of giving my address out to just anyone. My kids love to get ANY mail and I think they'd like this.

hey, this makes me wonder: is anyone interested in just a single exchange? sort of an abbreviated pen-pal idea? we would love to send some of our (really beautiful, btw) postcards in exchange for something from wherever you are.

Thanks everyone and all the pm messages too - I will pm address details when I can. I have sick children and a lot of contractions so there may be a delay - but I WILL respond.

We'd love to join in the international exchange ... would you like another state-side one -- this time form the Old Dominion (aka, Virginia) ?
