The kids and I flew to Chile this morning (via Google Earth) and located the Chaiten volcano. We read a little about the known history of this sleeping giant. We popped into NASA and determined how many kilometers the volcanic plume measured based on the picture they had from space and the scale they provided. Then we headed over to YouTube and checked out lots of different videos of the eruption. Very cool!

We also remembered to say a prayer to all of the guardian angels to help everyone escape the danger and to comfort them when they are finally able to return to their homes.

Great minds think alike!!!

My oldest (The Professor) is reading a book called The Encyclopedia of the Summer Olympics in preparation for this summer and he read about a paralympian named Antonio Rebollo who lit the Barcelona Olympic Flame with an arrow. So we looked that up too and
watched it! Way cool!!!
