Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

I was wondering if anyone else saw this?

I picked it up from the bargain books shelf at Barnes & Noble for $15. It's a little overwhelming but interesting - I thought some might like to glance at it if a B&N near you has it.

Some particular features I like are the Atlas of Old Testament Times and a reconstruction of Noah's ark! All the ecumenical councils are pointed out as well as the different Crusades. The major persecutions against Christians by the Romans are also marked. Lots of pictures and different little facts and tidbits.

It is very, very "busy" but I think it is a fun and fascinating addition to our history resources.

The timeline is a reproduction of a Victorian timeline and does have that Victorian sort of charm to it - it's been updated through the present time but there is note that states "The Victorian elements of the chart reflect prevailing knowledge and understanding and any inaccuracies reflect this: the publishers can accept no responsibility for the accuracy of fact or interpretation throughout."

No, but I picked up a similiar one at SAMs - ADAMS SynChronological Chart or Map of History from 1871. We really like it though we'd have to fill in beyond the late 1800s. It is just such a visually appealing chart and has all kinds of things lined up together including Biblical History.

I also have this book and would like to say we refer to it often but this is not the case. We also have a homemade timeline on the wall which has all of four entires on it! I SO want us to be a timeline using family but it just isn't happening!
