Oh, Dearest Mother, Sweetest Virgin of Altagracia, our Patroness. You are our Advocate and to you we recommend our needs. You are our Teacher and like disciples we come to learn from the example of your holy life. You are our Mother, and like children, we come to offer you all of the love of our hearts. Receive, dearest Mother, our offerings and listen attentively to our supplications. Amen.

Anyone have any experience with Berlitz language programs? How do they compare to Rosetta Stone? Rosetta Stone seems much preferred by homeschoolers....why?
Office Depot has the Berlitz software FREE after available rebates, but I don't want to get it if it's junky (not even for free )
Any thoughts?

I haven't looked at Berlitz in a long time, but IMHO, its problem used to be that it just doesn't build on itself: it was separated into "At the Train station" or "At the Store" and had random phrases that might come in handy. My favorite line (from years ago) was the very useful "Behold the bedroom of the baby!" LOL

Now, I'm SURE they've improved since those "bad old days", so you really ought to take a closer look. But the problem with Berlitz---and many, many packaged language programs, is they often have no systematic order so you can start building language skills across the board--it's just rote memory. That is the reason I like Pimsleur--they throw review at you as you go along, and build on prior skills.
